Zhangzhou China Merchants Port Company Limited ("ZCMP") was incorporated in September 2000. It is situated in the south flank of Xiamen Bay and at the entrance of Jiulongjiang, within the China Merchants Zhangzhou Development Zone. CMHI has a 60% interest and a management right in ZCMP.
As a leading terminal for containers, bulk and general cargo in Xiamen Bay through container and bulk cargo stevedoring, storage and warehousing services, ZCMP is a young port that derives its robust activities from the booming trade across the Taiwan Strait. The Zhaoyin Port Zone of Zhangzhou Port has been designated as a state's first category port and an officially approved pilot port for direct trade with Taiwan, emerging as a major terminal for container and bulk and general cargo in Xiamen Bay.
ZCMP is designed with 10 berths for containers, bulk, general cargo and multipurpose along its 2,230-metre quay. Given bullish macroeconomic factors, expanded activity from the "three communications" between Mainland and Taiwan and the organic growth of the terminal in the future, ZCMP has solidified itself as a major base for foreign and domestic container trade and cargo of large bulk in Southeastern China.
